Now, this is just really stupid. She went to the police station for questioning—alone? Presumably, she was accompanied by a maid and a coachman. And then she vanished. For a whole week. With no memory of it. That would raise alarm in any normal person. And if she had said she couldn’t remember anything, someone would likely have realized something was wrong.
Her husband is quite smart; he would have put two and two together.
As for not forgiving her betrayal—that makes sense; I wouldn’t forgive her either.
Otherwise, though, she is very pathetic and stupid—completely spineless.
