MC has a body skill (iron bones and copper skin) that prevents him from being cut in half easily.
If MC takes that master then that masters protects therefore reducing the possibility of him being brutally attacked and he would grow stronger faster and I highly doubt that in a word with qi and cultivation people would be surprised by MC healing wounds fast and if someone deals high damage wounds to MC and healing is so large it draw suspicion then that person is clearly an enemy so MC just has to kill the person to hide his secrets after his cells evolve and make his stronger.
The thing is as long as MC’s skill iron bones and copper skin keeps evolving the amount of injuries he would have would keep reducing therefore reducing the possibility of his regeneration to be seen as long as the damage in internal and it heals no one would ever know MC was even injured
