I mean, it’s good and all that he destroyed an entire sect by himself. But it could be too early for him. I don’t even think he’s capable of defeating their main master at this time. Isn’t he going about this the wrong way? He could be targeted by them while he journeys to get stronger. I just think destroying this sect and advertising his identity, blatantly challenging them like this is too hasty. He should’ve kept it a secret for a while and move in the shadows, for his own safety and the merchants.
